Fribourg Olympic Basket is restructuring and reorganising its administration. Having learnt from the structural issues that have arisen in recent weeks, the club has decided to entrust all its non-sporting management to FOB Management SA. This company, 50.2% of whose share capital is held by the Fribourg Olympic Basket association, has recently launched a public share offering. 33 new shareholders have joined the company, bringing the share capital to 100% paid-up.
A redundancy for economic reasons, three resignations from the Fribourg Olympic Basket committee and three resignations from the support staff have led the management to rebuild a new team and redistribute responsibilities within their relevant department. There are now three clearly
distinct administrative areas.
- Team support must provide efficient logistics covering everything directly related to the players.
- Operational management encompasses all the day-to-day tasks involved in organising home matches and welcoming the public.
- The club’s development department is responsible for marketing, sponsorship, innovation and any revenue-generating initiatives.
A new committee will be put forward to the club members at an extraordinary general meeting to be held in January 2025.
The new management team will be brought on board gradually, depending on the funds available and the dates of planned departures.
The return of Oliver Vogt
Meanwhile, FOB Management SA has announced the return of Oliver Vogt as Head of Development to support the company’s necessary growth phase. Against a backdrop of significant economic constraints, we had to take a difficult decision to ensure the organisation’s long-term viability. Today, thanks to initiatives that have somewhat strengthened our financial position, we have the opportunity to bring Oliver Vogt back on board. His return marks the start of a new phase. He will be responsible for consolidating our leading position in Swiss basketball, accelerating our growth initiatives and driving innovation in our product and service offerings.
