Fribourg Olympic regrets to announce the departure of Jonathan Williams. A key contributor to last season’s treble, the American unfortunately did not receive medical clearance following his medical examination.
Jonathan Williams returned to the United States on Wednesday to continue treatment for his knee injury.
To replace him, Fribourg Olympic has signed another American player: Joe Toussaint.
The 25-year-old, 1.83 m point guard played last season for BC Prievidza in Slovakia, where he averaged 11.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game in the domestic league. He also competed in the FIBA Europe Cup with the Slovak club.
Joe Toussaint arrived in Switzerland on Wednesday and successfully passed his medical examination.
Olympic’s new point guard is expected to make his first appearance in his new colours this Saturday and Sunday, during the team’s first preseason tournament in Besançon.
