- Chimezie Offurum: following his knee injury sustained during the match on 13 November, ‘Mezie’ has consulted several specialists, who have recommended surgery. He will be sidelined for the remainder of the current season.
- Killian Martin: the ankle sprain he sustained in Romania on 6 November will keep our player sidelined for around three months. He is expected to return to action in early March.
- Roberto Kovac: whilst landing a jump during the match on 11 December in Ludwigsburg, Roberto suffered a partial calf muscle tear. He will need to rest and undergo rehabilitation for around six weeks.
- Sheikh Sane: suffering from muscle pain in his hip, he was rested last Saturday. He is a doubt for our Swiss Cup match against the Geneva Lions.
Signing of an experienced international player
Fribourg Olympic Basket is delighted to announce the signing of Michel-Ofik Nzege. Aged 32, he began his training as a player at the Fribourg Olympic Academy in 2008, before continuing his career at other clubs, notably playing for three seasons in the NCAA, then in numerous foreign leagues including England, Slovakia, France, Spain and Belgium. On 21 and 24 November, he played a key role in the Swiss national team’s two victories in the pre-qualifiers for the 2027 World Championships.
“We’re delighted to welcome him and look forward to his athletic contribution. His physical commitment should give us an extra edge in defence” said Thibaut Petit, Head Coach.
